Document reviews

Every quote checked against your file.

Contracts, NDAs, data-processing agreements, security reports, insurance certificates, leases and policies, reviewed against structured checklists. Every point is quoted with its page, and any quote not found word for word is dropped before you see it.

What is AI document review for compliance?

AI document review reads a contract, a policy or a certificate against a checklist and tells you what is there, what is missing and where the risk sits. The useful kind quotes the exact words behind every point and shows the page, because a paraphrase can invent a clause or soften one. InackGuard's reviews drop any quote that cannot be found word for word in your file before you see the brief, keep the text for thirty days only, and leave the decision to a person.

HOW IT WORKS
1Upload a text-based PDF or Word file
2It is read against the checklist
3Every quote is verified word for word
4Review the brief and keep the record

AI summaries can make things up.

A summary that paraphrases a contract can miss a clause or invent one. Our reviews quote the exact words behind every point and check each quote against your file. If a quote cannot be found, it does not reach you.

WHY A SUMMARY CANNOT INVENT A CLAUSE HERE
1Read against a checklist14 to 21 items per document type
2Quote each pointThe exact words, with the page
3Verify every quoteWord for word against your file
4Drop what is not thereA quote not found never reaches you
5Rank the gapsLow, medium, high, with a suggestion

What it does

Six capabilities, each one visible in the report it produces.

Structured checklists

Each review follows a checklist written for that document type: fourteen items for an NDA, more for a data-processing agreement or a SOC 2 readiness review. The checklist is printed with the brief, so a reader sees what was looked for, not only what was found.

  • One checklist per document type, versioned
  • Each item: present, missing or unclear, with the quote
  • The checklist version is part of the record

RECORDEDThe checklist and version used, and the status of every item.

Verified quotes

Every quote in a brief is matched back to the file character by character. A quote that is not found is dropped, and the item is marked unclear instead. The brief shows the page beside each quote so a reader can open the file and check.

  • Character-level match against the file
  • A quote that is not found never reaches the brief
  • Page shown beside every quote

RECORDEDEach quote, its page, and the verification result.

Missing items flagged

What a document should say and does not is the finding that matters most. The brief lists missing items first, with a plain sentence on why each matters and what a reasonable clause would cover.

  • Missing items listed before present ones
  • A plain reason for each, in one sentence
  • Suggested coverage, never drafted legal text

RECORDEDThe missing items and the reason recorded for each.

Risk level

Each item carries low, medium or high, set by the checklist, not by the model. A high on a liability cap means the clause is absent or one-sided; a low means the usual wording is there. The levels roll up to one line at the top of the brief.

  • Levels set by the checklist rules per item
  • The brief opens with the count by level
  • A level never changes the result word; a person decides

RECORDEDThe level of every item and the rule that set it.

Short retention

The text of your document is kept for thirty days, long enough to re-open the brief and check a quote, then deleted. The brief, its quotes and the record of the review stay. Nothing is used to train a model.

  • Document text deleted after 30 days
  • The brief and its quotes are kept
  • No training on your documents, ever

RECORDEDThe upload time, the scheduled deletion and the deletion itself.

A person decides

The brief is a pre-review. It speeds reading from an hour to minutes; it does not accept or reject a contract. The reviewer's name, their outcome and their note go on the record beside the brief.

  • Outcome recorded by a named person
  • The brief is labelled as AI-assisted on every page
  • Organisations can switch the model off and get rules-only briefs

RECORDEDThe reviewer, their outcome and note, and whether a model was used.
